CompTIA
SECURITY+ Certification
WHAT IS
IT?
Security+ certification is a
vendor-neutral, industry-wide recognition of fundamental network security
knowledge. Security+ is a practical, hands-on program designed to build on your
existing knowledge and professional experience with computer hardware, operating
systems, and networks as you acquire the specific skills required to implement
basic security services on any type of computer network. The Security+ certified
technician possesses the knowledge needed to secure network services, network
devices, and network traffic.
HOW DO I BECOME CERTIFIED?
To become Security+
certified, you must pass the Security+ Certification Exam. This exam covers a
wide range of vendor neutral security services on any type of computer network.
The typical Security+
candidate should have CompTIA A+ certification and Network+ certification, or
equivalent knowledge; however, CompTIA A+ certification and Network+
certification is not required.
