This two-day, instructor-led course provides students with the knowledge and skills that are needed to manage Microsoft Windows® XP Professional computers in a Microsoft Windows Server™ 2003 environment. Additional information for Windows 2000 is also included explaining how it differs from Windows XP Professional.

Prerequisites
Before attending this course, students must have completed:

  • Course 2208: Upgrading Your Skills from Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 to Microsoft Windows Server 2003 

OR

  • Course 2274: Managing a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment

  • Course 2275: Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment

  • Course 2276: Implementing a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure: Network Hosts

  • Course 2277: Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure: Network Services

Microsoft Certified Professional Exams

This course will help the student prepare for the following Microsoft Certified Professional exams:

  • Exam 70-210: Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
  • Exam 70-270: Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft XP Professional

At Course Completion

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Plan and perform an installation of Windows XP Professional.
  • Install and support hardware devices and drivers on computers running Windows XP Professional.
  • Identify and resolve boot process issues on computers running Windows XP Professional.
  • Configure desktop settings for computers running Windows XP.
  • Configure security settings for Microsoft Internet Explorer and application compatibility for computers running Windows XP Professional.
  • Configure computers to run Windows XP Professional in a Windows networking environment.
  • Configure and support computers running Windows XP Professional for mobile computing.
